I have been offered a job for which I am overqualified and significantly underpaid. It is in a corporate environment, which I'm not particularly interested in. The work itself might not be challenging enough. I am only considering taking it because of the economy. I have a few other leads but they have not turned into interviews yet. Should I take this or hold off?

should I take a 25% pay cut and a job I don't particularly want?
As I see it there are two factors.
Your personal happiness and your need for financial stability
It is clear that the job is unlikely to make you happy, so the real question that needs to be asked is "if you walked away from this job, what would be the implications?"
If you are supporting a family, your answer might be different than if you are living in your parents basement.
If you can survive for a while without the job then wait for something you will be happy doing. In the mean time you might be able to get by doing freelance work.
